Fundamental Rights : Humans Or Animals ?

When we think of fundamental rights, what comes to our mind is the right of freedom of expression, the right for education and the right of decent living conditions. But have we ever thought what about the fundamental living right of animals ? We humans, have been living off this plannet, self proclaimed as one of the most advanced animal race to have ever existed and yet, we tend to be so narrow minded that we look only for ourselfs. Of all the important professions we aim for, how many of us have ever thought of saving animal life ?
Isn't it ironic ? The way we preach of equality and justice when at the same time we don't give animals the right care. A stray dog or a cat, a man on the streets and the richest man of the plannet deserves the same amount of rights. Justice must not bend for anyone, then why does every country oversee their stray animals ?
Why do we humans tend to hurt them, disrespect them and spread so much hate propoganda. Why aren't there any stray animal intiatives that are actually useful ? And if there are any, why don't we see them working ?
It might be a late question to ask, after 2 million years of living on this plannet and after 100 years of industrialisation. But a question asked late is better than a question not asked. So tell me, why don't we allow these animals to live just as freely as we are ? Why do we think of ourselfs as the most intelligent species, when all we have done is but ruin tbis plannet and shreaded to its very last core of existence ? And in trying to solve it, we have reached at a saturation point of mere international politics and power game.
