Know When To Stop: Change
In this time where emotions are given the least consideration and actual caring is but neglected, it is often at times easy to hurt others feelings and put them in an endless cycle of sorrow and saddness. Many a times, writers are also great feelers, they feel small things too deeply, and that is beautiful yet torture.
What one forgets is that, sometimes, the thing we chase, whether it be an award, a person or even a friends attention, is not destiny. It is possible that, that particular goal was never meant to be reached. If that were the case, then no matter how hard one tries, he/she will never be able to achieve it. No matter, how much effort, dedication, care and attention you put, you will never quite grasp it. In fact, all the handwork would be rendered futile and in the end, all you would be left is sorrow.
Leaving such a goal is hard, harder still for introverts and overthinkers, who tend to be possessive and obsessive. But it is an important lessons, something that each one of us must remember and follow. Something, that can save us in life. Save us all the time and effort we put it. We must realize the epistemology of loss, no matter how much hurt you become while stopping the chase, in the long run, happiness is forever beckoning. And if at all, you are in doubt of the goal just leave it free, if it comes back then chase it forever, if not replace it.
For the dharmic man, this philosophy might seem too harsh and even non-dutiful, but the world is not what it uses to be. What we give is not always what we get back, in fact that is seldom true. In reality, what we get is the chance of sheer gods grace and fluke, from this we obtain humility. In such a world, why chase things that was never meant to be. As famously said "The wand chooses the wizard....", it is the dream that chooses the person and not the other way around. If that does not happen, change the dream don't dumbly chase it.
This post might be too harsh, perhaps a slap to the face, but in all good times sake, I hope it helps a few. To the rare few who put in too much effort. To the rare few good hearts who actually cae for people and for the rare few that chase the people they can never get.
"The eagle chased the clouds,
with all its might cry's loud
And after eons of strives and thought
after the darkest hour seemed to dawn
It realized with a wry, perhaps the clouds
perhaps the clouds were never meant to be reached
perhaps all its faith, was to see them and be-lived
And that day happiness dawned
the eagle that chased the clouds"
