Life: My Greatest Teacher
I recently asked myself - what taught me the most in life ? Was it a particular person or an event ? Naming so would disregard many of which, even those who may have unknowingly played a critical role. So, the most obvious yet only answer remaining is LIFE. Yes, my life taught me the most. Not my teachers, parents or even friends, but all those together. A perfect amalgam of all those, combined with nature. My teachers gave me knowledge, my parents taught me compassion and kindness, they perfected my character. And my friends, who inspired me, and brought me out of my comfort zone.
Why do I mention this now ? Because sometimes, we teenagers feel overwhelmed as if the whole universe is conspiring about us and that no one cares about oneself. But in those times, one has to remember the life; the life that taught them so much. While doing so, they shall see the silver lining of cloud. If we consider life to be our teacher, and bow to thus, we shall be able to face all situations.
It is not merely about surviving competition and preventing insecurities. But also about happiness. Look around you, the winds that rush about; the birds that chirp; the starry sky and the cinematic clouds. Travel a lot friends, if not to distant places, then to the places around you. Observe and learn, for those are the most essential. And don't hold grudges, from what I learnt from life, you can learn something from everyone. Yes, even from the people who hurt you the most.
Give. Give back to the life that taught you so much (again, paraphrasing Tata). The secret of getting is give, give and to give. Give continuously, give without a thought, give to all. And then you will be amazed to see how much you can gain.
