Boredom: The Path To Creativity
Have any one of you had those days, where you simply had nothing to do? 😐So dull and boring the day was, but suddenly a novel thought strikes your mind and keeps you occupied. This is the power of boredom, it has the ability to bring in creativity. When people are bored, their brains try to find works for them. And when there is no "infinite content source ∞"(meaning social media) the brain gets creative. This is probably the reason, I find my drawings better after a period of doing nothing.
This philosophy goes a long way to show us how doing nothing is better than simply wasting ones time scrolling. Instagram, YouTube, Snap Chat and Reddit are amazing sites - but comes with the cost which is the reduction in originality. I recently experienced this, in the days my YouTube consumption was high, my thought process was deeply reduced. I could not even think properly. And whenever I forced myself to do so, I was struck with an attack of headache. My brain simply refused to be original.
So does that mean one should remain completely in boredom ? Definitely not, it may sound counter-intuitive but too much boredom can simply send the brain into a stage where boring is comforting. 😶This then destroys the entire purpose of remaining in it. We must learn to strike the balance between keeping ourselves occupied with our own brain and with our phones.
If this is properly done, then creative ideas would flow in. The mind would run through the vast expanse of topics and question everything. It would THINK😎!! And trust me, once you learned to make your mind think rather than being puppets, half the goal is reached. Slowly, but surely boredom is converted to a thinking period.
"We are who we think we are" - this thinking period would enhance our personality. So people lets all give ourselves that "No Phone Period"😤, so that our minds can expand and for novelty to be born.
